1.0 Introduction
1.1 Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using the website operated by The National Housing Federation; (Federation); (our); (we); or (us) (Company Registration Number 302132) (VAT Registration Number 830 7390 35). In particular, we draw your attention to clauses 8 (Applicability of online materials) and 12 (Liability). By clicking on the “I accept” button at the bottom of these terms and conditions and accessing and using our website you agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions (as they may be modified and posted on our website from time to time).
1.2 If you do not wish to be bound by these terms and conditions then you may not use our website.
2.0 Nature of our website
2.1 Our website is a place for you to view information, log into member only areas and select and order conferences, training courses and publications. Our website describes these all in more detail.
(Please note that our website is available only to individuals that can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. Although the contents of our website are aimed at users of all ages) you must be over eighteen to purchase products and services, using the payment method displayed on our website. If you do not qualify please leave our website now.
3.0 Buying products and services on our website
3.1 To order a product you will need to follow the ordering procedures set out on our order pages. Details of our prices for the Products, and the procedures for payment and delivery are displayed on our website.
3.2 Any times or dates stated on our website for delivery are estimates only. The National Housing Federation will make all reasonable effort to deliver goods within the time specified, but does not accept liability for any failure to deliver within that time.
3.3 You must pay by credit or debit card at the time of order. The price of any Product is the price in force at the date and time of your order. We may change the price of any Product before you place an order. We try to ensure that our prices displayed on our website are accurate but the price on your order will need to be validated by us as part of the acceptance procedure (see clause 3.4 below). We will inform you if a Product’s correct price is higher than that stated in your order and you may cancel the order and decide whether or not to order the product at the correct price. The prices are exclusive of delivery costs and applicable taxes until final checkout.
3.4 The National Housing Federation is entitled to refuse any order placed by you. If your order is accepted, we will confirm acceptance to you by online electronic means (‘Confirmation’) to the email address you have given us on registration or on ordering. The order will then be fulfilled by the date set out in the Confirmation or, if the Confirmation does not contain such a date, within thirty [30] days.
3.5 You undertake that all details you provide to us for the purpose of purchasing goods or services which may be offered by us on our website will be correct, that the credit or debit card, which you use is your own and that there are sufficient funds or credit facilities to cover the cost of any goods or services. We reserve the right to obtain validation of your credit or debit card details [for verification of the authenticity and ownership of] before providing you with any goods or services.
4.0 Returns and Cancellations
4.1 You may return any Products you have purchased within fourteen [14] working days of delivery for any reason (including if you simply change your mind). To do so you must notify us in writing or other durable medium. (including email) within those fourteen [14] working days. You will then be entitled to a refund from The National Housing Federation, which will be paid as soon as possible, but in any event within thirty [30] days. You must arrange for and pay the costs of returning the Products to The Federation – on request, we will collect the Products from you, but the cost of this will be charged to you and we may deduct this from the refund. While in your possession, you must keep any Products you intend to return to us in good condition or you may be liable for any damage.
4.2 If:
(i) the Product delivered is not what you ordered (including any Substitute Products), or does not correspond with its description
(ii) the Product delivered is not of a satisfactory quality ; or
(iii) the Product is not fit for any other purpose for which you have bought it and you notified The National Housing Federation of this purpose before purchase, and The National Housing Federation has not informed you that the Product is not fit for that purpose.
4.3 The National Housing Federation will, at its option, deliver to you a replacement Product or refund to you the price paid and your reasonable costs of returning the Products.
4.4 If you book a delegate place on a conference or training course and subsequently change your mind there will be an administrative charge as detailed in the booking conditions. Cancellations with the last ten working days before any event result in the full fee being payable.
4.5 Speakers and/or sessions may alter from the original programme. The Federation does not warranty their availability and is not liable for any direct or indirect costs flowing from the alteration.
(i) Where we substitute speakers or are forced to cancel sessions no refund is available

5.0 Modifications to website
5.1 We reserve the right to make changes or corrections, alter, suspend or discontinue any aspect of our website or the content or services available through it, including your access to it. Unless explicitly stated to the contrary, any new features including new contact and/or the sale of new products shall be subject to these terms and conditions.

6.0 Information you provide to us
6.1 Data Protection and Privacy
6.1 The National Housing Federation recognises that privacy is important to the individual and is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the users to its website. The National Housing Federation is registered with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998, and committed to protecting individuals’ online privacy.
Because we are committed to an individuals’ privacy, any personal data we may request will be kept confidential, entered into a single membership database and processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 once it reaches the Federations servers.
6.1.2 Any personal information provided by an individual to the National Housing Federation, either through registration or use of the website will only be used for the following purposes by the National Housing Federation:
updating and enhancing membership records and those of other related National Housing Federation activities;
defining areas of interest for the individual by improving the website to meet users’ habits and requirements through the compiling of information relating to their movements across the website;
advising individuals of other products and services that may be of interest, this includes the Affinity Partnership programme.
Any personal information received from an individual will be retained by us and not sold, transferred or otherwise disclosed to any third party, unless such disclosure is required by law or other court order. An individual will also have the right to remove themselves from any mailing list at any time.
6.1.3 Some of the web pages on the site make use of cookies. By registering with this website, an individual is consenting to the terms and conditions herein and to the National Housing Federation processing personal data for the purposes as set out above.
6.1.4 This data protection and privacy policy statement relates solely to the information provided by an individual on this website. This information includes registration details, any additional information submitted during the course of using the website, and the information gathered by the National Housing Federation whilst tracking an individual’s movements across the website.
6.1.5 When registering for online services individuals will be requested to enter certain personal information and to choose a password for subsequent access to these services. The services and information available to an individual will be governed by the relationship between the individual and the National Housing Federation.
6.1.6 This privacy policy is not intended to, and does not create any contractual or other legal rights.
Our privacy policy is compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the National Housing Federation is entered in the Data Protection Register located under www.ico.gov.uk
6.2 The following applies to any information you provide to us, for example during any registration or ordering process.
(i) you authorise us to use, store or otherwise process any personal information which relates to and identifies you, including but not limited to your name and address, to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the services which are available through our website by us, our partners, successors (including the purchaser of the whole or part of our business), associates, sub-contractors or other third parties (together our ‘Partner Companies’). These Partner Companies may be located in countries outside the European Economic Area that do not have laws to protect your information. Details of the companies and countries involved in your case will be provided on request. (ii) If you obtain or choose to buy Products through our website then we may collect information about your buying behaviour and if you send us personal correspondence such as emails or letters (or post reviews or other messages on the bulletin boards or in the chat areas) then we may collect this information into a file specific to you (together, the various purposes set out in this paragraph and in our privacy policy shall be known as ‘the Purposes’). All such information collected by us shall be referred to in these terms and conditions as ‘Personal Information’.
(iii) You must ensure that the Personal Information you provide is accurate and complete and that all ordering or registration details (where applicable) contain your correct name, address and other requested details. 6.4 In addition, the following also applies to all messages, emails, bulletin boards postings, ideas, suggestions, concepts or other material submitted by you to us (‘Content’):
(i) you must own or have the right to submit Content for publication on our website and all Content submitted by you must be legal, honest, decent and truthful and comply with all applicable laws, Regulations, standards and/or codes of practice;
(ii) you must ensure that all Content submitted to us does not infringe the copyright, design, privacy, publicity, data protection, trade mark or any other rights of any third party, nor be obscene, abusive, threatening, libellous or defamatory of any person or be otherwise unlawful;
(iii) you must ensure that the Content does not advertise or other-wise solicit for funds or is a solicitation for goods or services; and

7.1 You are solely responsible in all respects for all use of and for protecting the confidentiality of any username, email verification and password that may be given to you or selected by you for use on our website. You must notify The National Housing Federation immediately of any unauthorised use of them or any other breach of security regarding our website that comes to your attention.

In addition, a link to any other website does not mean that the National Housing Federation endorses or accepts any responsibility for the content, or the use of, such a website and the National Housing Federation shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any content, goods or services available on or through any other website or resource. 11.1 We will try to make our website available but cannot guarantee that our website will operate continuously or without interruptions or is error free and can accept no liability for its unavailability. 12.1 We promise that for any Product you purchase from our website:

(ii) the Product will correspond with the description we have given to you
(iii) the Product will be of satisfactory quality

13.3 These terms and conditions together with the privacy policy, any order form and payment method instructions, if any, are the whole agreement between you and the National Housing Federation.
